Attributes of the entities and their characteristics, e.g. type, format, optionality;
Relationships between entities and their characteristics, e.g. a party may have one or more interests;
Metadata to inform the use of data, e.g. the quality method applied to verifying the accuracy of the data, provenance of the data, versioning, identifiers.
It provides a common language to communicate requirements, future proofs investment in data and systems and provides the foundation for data transfer standards.
